In the far-off corners of the country, where rivers and oceans stand between kids and their schools, something bright and cheerful sails in — a yellow boat! For many children in remote communities, getting to class isn’t as simple as walking down the street. It means crossing water, rain or shine, just to reach their dreams. That’s where the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation comes in, turning boat rides into bridges to education. And we’re so happy and proud to be part of that journey!
With full hearts, our Handog Edukasyon program through W&J Lim Foundation recently donated funds to help build motorized yellow boats and starter classrooms for children in Bicol. These boats are more than just transportation — they are bridges to a better future. They safely carry children to school on regular days and help sustain their families through fishing when classes are over. Built by local carpenters, these boats also uplift the community by providing livelihood opportunities.
Through initiatives like Bangkarunungan, the Yellow Boat Foundation brings education directly to communities even during summer vacation — a reminder that learning goes beyond the classroom, and hope doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. This year, with a donated motor boat and starter classroom, the journey of bringing education closer continues — bridging the gap between hope and access.
We believe every child deserves the chance to dream, to learn, and to build a life beyond the waters that surround them. And sometimes, all it takes is a yellow boat to get them there.
