First and foremost, unplug all external power sources, devices, and cables. Using a soft, lint-free cloth, gently wipe the surfaces of your gadget. Avoid excessive wiping because it might cause damage.
Don’t use abrasive cloths, towels, paper towels, or similar items to avoid unwanted scratches. Never spray cleaners directly onto your gadget. Always read the label, manual, or other instructive materials that came with the item if you’re unsure. Some gadgets need extra care and more sensitive to external forces.
Is it okay to use a disinfectant?
YES. Using a soft cloth with 70% isopropyl alcohol or store-bought disinfecting wipes, you may gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your gadget, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces. Avoid the openings including the speakers and charging port, unless your device has an IP rating or waterproofing.
Don’t use bleach. Don’t submerge your gadget in any cleaning agent. Fabric or leather surfaces should be avoided unless you’re using a dedicated cleaner. Keep in mind also that liquid damage isn’t covered by most warranty, even if your device has waterproofing. 🤓
