Are you the designated runner for groceries and other necessities in your home in the meantime? Well, you should know some dos and don’ts after heading onto the crowd. We always wanted to minimize any risk of infection, so here some tips you might want to keep in mind.
Avoid touching anything in your home
Consider yourself as a carrier of any germs since you just went to a crowded space and interact with people you don’t know. 🤚
Leave your shoes outside
As much as possible, leave the shoes you used outside and have clean indoor slippers at home. This will also keep your floors free from outside dirt. 🧹
Remove your outer clothing
Like your shoes, the outer clothing you wore outside shouldn’t be exposed to your home. You may place them in a separate plastic or laundry bag and wash them as is when it’s laundry day.
Refrain from bringing in the bags
Just like with shoes, put your bags in a box near the door. It’s best to not let any exposed items such as eco-bags inside your home. 🛍
Wash your hands
Don’t forget to wash your hands and other exposed areas upon entering your home. If you want, you may take a shower for a full-body cleaning. 🚿
Disinfect your things
Whatever you brought outside should be disinfected. On top of the list here is your phone. You may read about the proper way of disinfecting your gadgets here. Don’t forget to disinfect your glasses and wristwatch if you brought them outside too. 👓
Disinfect your groceries before storing
If you can, wipe the surfaces of your groceries (e.g. canned goods, Tetra Packs, plastic containers, etc) with disinfecting wipes or a clean cloth with alcohol before putting them in the pantry. 🥫
After everything, wash your hands again
Before doing another activity, be sure to wash your hands again thoroughly for at least 20 seconds. This is to make sure that you’re not transferring any germs. 🧼
While total disinfection may not be possible, the intention here is to reduce the risk. Cleanliness is always a good thing. These safe practices are not only applicable during a pandemic, but it should be done always and it’ll soon be a habit!
Stay at home and stay safe everyone! 😃
Prevent the spread of COVID-19 by staying at home. Always cover your mouth when coughing and sneezing. Regularly wash your hands with soap and water, and clean frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs and light switches.
