Great news for PlayStation 4 gamers out there! Sony is offering two FREE games to all PS4 owners for a limited time as part of an initiative to encourage people to stay at home and keep them entertained while in quarantine.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has a new “Play At Home” initiative to give thanks to PS4 owners and also help independent game developers. PS4 users can own a digital copy of Journey and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for free starting today, April 16, until May 6 at 11am PHT. PS4 owners living in Germany and China will have a different set of free games though: Journey and Knack 2.
The free games will offer hours of gameplay, especially the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection which is a three-game collection from Naughty Dog that includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Journey, on the other hand, is a celebrated adventure game with a life-affirming message.
During these days of physical distancing, fans have turned to gaming for moments of respite and enjoyment.
As mentioned, the initiative also includes a US$10 million creative fund to help independent game developers undergoing financial hardships due to the current pandemic the world is facing.
If you’re already stoked to play the two free games, just head over to the PS Store on your PS4 and start downloading! Once you redeem the games, they are yours to keep and you’ll be able to play them anytime you want. Ain’t that great? 😊
